Children discover the history of Quebec City with the Rendez-vous d'histoire de Québec

Transforming its offer in time of pandemic
Les Rendez-vous d'histoire de Québec (RVHQC) is an organization that, in the pre-pandemic period, offered a face-to-face event bringing historians together in front of an audience. The new health measures prompted the organization to think of a new way of making history accessible to all ages.
Their idea, in particular, was to create free outdoor tours available directly on cell phones.
A contactless experience
Under the name P'tits Rendez-vous d'histoire, the Rendez-vous d'histoire de Québec has developed three routes around the city. Lasting a total of 45 minutes each, the tours invite visitors to stroll around and discover 6 points of interest.
At each stop, there are age-specific challenges, one for children aged 4 to 7, the other for those aged 7 to 10. Quizzes, archive photos and historical information invite children to discover the area's built heritage, works of art and place names during the summer of 2021. The experience was given new visibility during the Journées de la culture in September 2021.
