Discover the story of Riopelle, a major artist, told by the town of Montmagny

Spotlighting a local artist
As part of the Mon cher Jean Paul exhibition, the town of Montmagny has decided to offer visitors a privileged immersion into the intimate life of the world-renowned artist Riopelle, who settled in the region in the last years of his life.
A trail in Riopelle's footsteps
To this end, the town is proposing the discovery of six places that were frequented by Riopelle during the 25 years he spent in the region. Six panels have been placed around town. Their locations can be discovered on the Ville de Montmagny website, as well as on a map integrated directly into the MySmartJourney web application. Each panel has a QR code, which visitors can scan to learn more about the history of the site and what it meant to Jean-Paul Riopelle.
