Modernizing the Transmission of Indigenous Heritage
The Gitanyow Museum showcases the First Nations community in northern British Columbia. The museum is dedicated to preserving and presenting the culture, history, and traditions of the Gitanyow, an Indigenous people of the region.
To showcase its cultural artifacts, artwork, sculptures, and historical objects that illustrate the richness of Gitanyow heritage, the organization has utilized MySmartJourney technology.
A historic digital circuit
The museum has developed a digital historical tour called “Totem Tours,” an online experience that allows visitors to explore the totems and artifacts on display at the museum.
At each totem, a panel featuring a QR code allows visitors to learn about their historical and modern significance.
