The Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network is fully committed to promoting the local agri-food sector through its Savour East Ontario initiative. At various events, the organization provides visitors with packets of seeds to plant, thereby encouraging the cultivation of local and sustainable produce.
To best support visitors in planting and growing the seeds, the organization has implemented an innovative solution to provide all the necessary information.
Interactive learning with a QR code
The QR codes on the seed packets allow visitors to scan them directly with their phones. This gives them access to detailed information about the seeds, cultivation, watering, seed storage, harvesting, and the seeds’ origin, as well as step-by-step instructions for planting the seeds and recipe ideas for using their harvest.
This comprehensive resource provides users with a wealth of information once they get home, guiding them through their gardening experience with their seed packets.
