Recognizable tourist routes

The Regional County Municipality (RCM) of Les Etchemins has created heritage trails in its 13 communities with signs enhanced with QR codes deployed near certain attractions to promote them and enable their discovery by tourists and local residents alike. To make these QR codes visible, the RCM has installed tourist signs in the urban environment. But how can this signage be made recognizable to passersby?

Effective urban signage

This project, entitled "Walk through our villages," allows visitors to discover 32 places of cultural or heritage interest. To promote and recognize its trail, the RCM of Les Etchemins has chosen to promote each specific location where points of interest are located by installing urban signage.

In front of each attraction, there is a banner and a poster in the form of an interpretive panel. An old photo and a key fact about the location are then highlighted, along with QR codes providing access to a fun historical presentation for each of these sites, as well as a tourist map listing their geographic location within the municipality.

These banners add a festive touch to the walk and give visitors the feeling of always being on the right path to navigate the enhanced route.
