The Bellechasse MRC showcases its religious heritage

A territory with an abundant religious heritage
The Bellechasse MRC has developed the Bellechasse aux clochers project, which aims to showcase the richness and diversity of Bellechasse's religious heritage through virtual tour technology. Visitors can visit Bellechasse churches and chapels from the MRC de Bellechasse website, without actually visiting the site.
At the same time, the municipality has come up with a solution to make visiting these sites more fun and interactive.
A virtual tour of the region's places of worship
The Bellechasse MRC chose to combine the MySmartJourney tool with its Bellechasse aux clochers project, integrating Google Maps Street View functionality. The web application gives visitors instant access to a wealth of information on the architecture and history of the region's churches. QR codes in the bottom right-hand corner of the interpretation panels enable visitors to take a virtual tour of the interior. So, even outside opening hours, visitors can explore the nave and admire the architectural and artistic details of this heritage site.
The virtual tour provides a better understanding of our religious heritage, as well as promoting accessibility. Twenty-one churches and nine chapels are available via high-definition photos, taken in 360 degrees. It also includes archival material that gives an insight into the life of these buildings today.
