Le Bourg de Pabos offers an interactive outdoor family trail

A hunt for artifacts
The former seigneury of Le Bourg de Pabos has been the subject of archaeological digs to better understand its history. Elsa Pépin, the Bourg's general manager, wanted to offer visitors the chance to discover the artifacts found and learn more about the history of the seigneury.
To showcase these artifacts, Le Bourg chose to create an interactive digital quest.
Showcasing archaeological heritage
Armed with their mobile phones, visitors wander around the park in search of small boxes enriched with QR codes and NFC chips. A close-up photo of the artifact found on the site is then displayed on the card. The web application provides photos, videos and sometimes a more detailed text description.
After scanning a panel, for example, the walker can discover the history of the thimble. A video shows where the artifact was unearthed, its age, and how it was used during New France. An action button brings up more information if the visitor wishes.
