Discovery of a little-known heritage thanks to the Port of Quebec

Rediscovering the Port of Québec's Industrial Heritage
Québec City has a rich industrial heritage, but it's often little-known to the public. The Port of Québec team designed a paper-based historical rally, partly in response to the many requests from cruise ship passengers seeking to trace their Irish roots. This rally also aimed to showcase these areas, which are seldom visited, and to share the history of this heritage with the public.
A Fun and Engaging Visitor Experience
Due to the pandemic, the Port of Québec shifted to creating a virtual rally covering the entire port area. Using their phones, walkers can discover a wealth of information about the surrounding industrial landscape in an enjoyable way.
Along the route, points of interest help visitors learn more about Québec City's maritime industrial heritage. Videos, archival images, and audio clips allow visitors to rediscover and admire the industrial port, its history, and its facilities. Did you know that a bear was once on the roof of the Customs House?
